The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) develops harmonized technical standards (EN) for safety, quality and compatibility at the European level.
They are adopted by 34 national bodies, including AFNOR for France.
CEN organizes working groups that bring together representatives of national standardization committees , within the framework of the regular revision of standards carried out to evolve with market developments.
The working meetings of March 18 and 19 concerned the CEN Technical Committee 217 dedicated to sports surfaces , and more specifically the subcommittees in charge of synthetic sports surfaces [WG6] and test methods [WG11].
Sébastien LACOURT, our Director, was there to represent AFNOR !
As a sports floor testing laboratory, it is always a great pleasure to participate in the creation and revision of European standards that set the performance, durability and safety requirements of our core business!
